![]() ![]() | ![]() A Magical Skylark StoryTuesday, 20 September 2011 We were delighted to receive the following tale from a wonderful family from Liverpool who came to buy a guitar for their daughter in October last year. We thoroughly enjoyed having them at the Skylark Guitars showroom. Thank you Tony for your wonderful words, we were delighted to receive your email. Enjoy!
T'was on the 27th day of October, the year of our lord 2009, that we three, mother, father and daughter aged 17, did ride out. We ventured south from The Pool of Liver into the heart of old Salop in search of The Land of Days, that mythical kingdom of rocks (and er... rolls.) We did search high and occasionally we did we swing low. Nooks were probed and crannies were scoured; (I think you get the picture!) Alas we were without success and, it would seem, soon to be without hope. Even when we enquired of the denizens of that fair area the mention of Land of Days left dazed miens and visages. (Forsooth, perhaps this was their everyday demeanour.) Even the royal postal messenger bemusedly did scratch his lustrous locks when we asked for his royal directions. And so, sore of heart and buttock and about to ride off to our lodgings for the night at Wilderhope Manor, we did trawl the lanes once more ere nightfall. It was as we shambled down an ancient byway that I noticed a local fellow eyeing us with suspicion from behind the gate of his manor. (T'is no wonder he did eye us askance for he had seen us already pass by twice thrice his dwelling where passers-by were spied only when the moon was blue in hue.) But We did approach and warily he did introduce himself as Steven of Alden, purveyor of fine instruments, musical, (at reasonable rates,) and the squire of the Land of Days. Our pilgrimage was at an end. The rest is history or mythology. Fast forward to the present time and normal(ish) language and our daughter Roisin has been inseparable from the guitar we purchased from you on that enjoyable visit to Skylark guitars. The joy she has got from her music since owning the guitar has been massive. It has helped her write and play her own songs and develop her love of music. It has also given her mum and dad much pleasure from listening to her! We often talk fondly of that time we went looking for the guitar.
