This small bodied electro acoustic bass has a surprisingly fat tone that will appeal to any bass player looking for a natural woody sound.

The 4 band preamp/EQ and resonant body make this an ideal stage bass for “unplugged” gigs.

It has shell inlay around the body and soundhole and distinctive “lightening” fret inlays.

With Spruce top and cutaway body style this bass is a lovely player at a sensible price and comes complete with hard case.

Mezzotonic acoustic gig bass!
  -  Matthew

I have been looking around for a while now for an electro acoustic bass that is great value for money and sounds and feels and looks good… but if you have less than £500 you have a very short list!

I have other skylark basses and guitars and I know the quality of the instruments and the pressure free showroom would of been top of the list.
I saw the bass hanging on the wall of the showroom, I started to think what WONT this bass deliver as it is almost half the price of others I have seen online?

I picked up the bass and was surprised by the balance of the weight from headstock to body and felt at home with the more compact body as I am an electric bass player unless doing “unplugged” gigs.
The bass is strung with Nickel strings not bronze so sounds a bit more zingy and fresh and feels more familiar to the eclectic basses I have.

The playability is superb. Fresh from box to stand the action is reasonable and no gritty grinding frets and dry fret board. The bass sounds great acoustically and great plugged in with just a little presence added on the EQ panel,
With in a few minutes of getting my bearings I was playing all riffs I could play on an electric bass including, slap and pop and even tapping!!!

I was so impressed with the bass I asked for the bass to be booked in for the extra service of a set up to get the full potential from the bass.
I have looked around for an acoustic bass for 9 months and was never that keen on the look of the bass before feeling the chunky body under my arm like I was carrying a small shed.

For the £230 paid I had a full set up which was great, and a hard case!!! For me this was the best buy around regardless of the price I have recommended Skylark to all players I meet on the road and I have already recorded a live acoustic session with the bass. I can’t wait to share the evidence of how good this acoustic bass is! Thanks so much skylark!!

I LOVE THIS BASS!

Matt
