Nathan Young (28) winner of the Skylark video competition came over to see us on 28th January to choose his prize. We thought Nathan had ticked all the right boxes in the video entry, showing off the Skylark Tennessee to great effect. Nathan travelled over to Shropshire from Lincoln with his parents and a friend.

Nathan's Dad Pete is a musician and introduced him to guitar at the tender age of 3. Watching him play he has a great range of styles and currently plays in Motown/Soul band Soul Intentions. In the past he toured extensively with Country Cattin and he'd like to do more touring and session work

Nathan cites Brian Setzer, James Burton and Danny Gatton as his main influences and his Skylark Tennessee is his No1 choice from his 6 guitars for his country/rockabilly work - played through a Selmer Zodiac. (Ask your Dad about those!!) Currently he has a writing and recording project with friends.

After perusing the current stock for a couple of hours, and several cups of coffee later Nathan decided he'd go for a Palace wooden Roundback electroacoustic as he doesn't have an acoustic in his arsenal at present - an excellent choice. Fortunately James Davey was with us and gave the guitar some final tweaks to perfection.

You can find Nathan in the "Ye olde Crown" in Lincoln most nights.
